Jordan is an absolute natural in front of the camera—she could easily be a model! I had the honor of photographing her amazing older sister, and now it’s Jordan’s turn to shine.

Evan is also a talented athlete who plays baseball and hockey for Frontier, with baseball being his first love. We even ended up using the last bit of light at Frontier HS to capture some amazing shots. I loved his sense of humor throughout the session. I also had the pleasure of photographing his older sister a couple of years ago, and I’m thrilled there’s one more sibling coming up soon. Thank you, Evan, for letting me capture your senior portraits. You were so easy to work with!
I had an absolute blast photographing this beautiful girl! Our session started at the stunning Buffalo City Hall and the breathtaking Buffalo Basilica Church, and we wrapped up with some gorgeous shots in the field and at the beach. Each location perfectly complemented her stylish outfits, and she looked absolutely radiant at every spot.
Alivia was such a joy to work with, making the day even more enjoyable. The weather was just perfect, adding a magical touch to the photos. 🌞
I’m so excited to meet all the new seniors as my busy season is in full swing! If you are Class of 2025 or 2026, you should definitely participate in the GIVEAWAY I announced. It's such a great opportunity! If you want the Zula Sonner Photography experience, please contact me soon—I still have some dates available in August. 📸✨
Anna will be participating in our fall, Christmas, and cap and gown shoots, and I can't wait to capture her spirit and beauty in each session. As a spokesmodel, Anna brings a lot of enthusiasm and charm, making every photo session fun and memorable.
In addition to being a fantastic spokesmodel, Anna is also on the cheer team for the winter season. She switches gears in the spring and plays golf for her school, showcasing her versatility and dedication. Anna has also been actively volunteering at St. Greg’s for Vacation Bible School over the past few summers, demonstrating her commitment to her community.
A fun fact about Anna is that she used to cheer when she was little and recently started again, rediscovering her love for the sport. One of her favorite foods is chicken fingers and French fries—a classic go-to meal. Anna has a brother, a sister, and two cats, both adorably named Kitty.
I am so grateful to have Anna on my team. She is such a gorgeous girl, inside and out, and I’m looking forward to capturing more of her wonderful moments this year! Thank you, Anna, for trusting me. I am so honored to be your senior portraits photographer! I hope your senior year is very special, and I look forward to more fun moments together. Love you, girl!

Why should you hire a professional makeup artist for your professional pictures?
1
HIGHLIGHT YOUR NATURAL BEAUTY, WHILE HAVING CAMERA READY MAKEUP!
You do not have to look like a different person! Makeup shows up very differently on camera than it does in real life. The flashes and lights can make you look very washed out and not show any depth to your skin tones. A professional MUA knows how to highlight certain areas so your skin has beautiful glow and balanced tones (including: smoothing out acne and uneven skin tone)
2
ACHIEVE THE EXACT STYLE YOU WANT!
Whether it is natural, minimal makeup look, "no makeup" makeup, or full glam, a makeup artist can do that for you. Through communication, we will ensure you are satisfied with how you look, but also photograph ready! You can even try something new or something you love, but aren't confident in doing!
3
STRESS FREE EXPERIENCE
Does anyone get overwhelmed by the idea of doing their own makeup for pictures or before a big event? A MUA can help you be more stress free before your pictures.
It will take the pressure off and you can actually relax!
4
PUT YOUR BEST FACE FORWARD!
You are going to have these pictures for a lifetime, you want to look flawless.
A MUA knows what products to use to enhance your features, products that will allow the makeup to have longevity, and makeup that can withstand any type of weather (or chasing children around) and studio lighting. Even natural look involves many more products than you would think!
5
BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE BEFORE YOUR PHOTOSHOOT!
Pretty much everyone gets out of the MUA chair with a smile on their face, whether they are makeup wearers or not! People can take the feeling of loving how they look, and going to their photoshoot where they will have these pictures forever! This is where communication is key!
I need to listen to my clients and understand what will make them feel their best!
I wish you all the best for many more contest that you will be facing your life and I am sure that you are going to shine bright every time because you are one lucky and hard woking soul ! Congratulation again ! I loved working with you and specially styling your bike with beautiful flowers!
Also thank you all class of 2022 seniors who participated our annual GIVEAWAY !! I appreciate your support and love ❤️ stay tuned ~more GIVEAWAY coming soon!

My oldest daughter is BFFs with Cami's older sister, so I've known her since she was a little girl! Its hard to believe she will be a senior in high next year...
She has grown into such a beautiful young lady, and I'm so glad that I'm able to kick off the senior portrait season warming up and sharpening my skills with her as my Frontier High School spokes model.
Please enjoy these images we took at Buffalo Botanical Gardens. I specialize in natural settings and make my seniors feel at ease so I can capture their personalities in my photographs.
I'm just beginning to schedule sessions, so please contact me soon to reserve your sitting date. I will offer incentives to the "early birds" that have their sessions in the month of June!

The bride was SO energetic, joyous, and wonderful from my first shutter click to the last. Even though it was a slightly mild 40 degree day in January, their wedding was one of my first winter wedding of year. The happy couple had planned a SNOW wedding… Unfortunately, mother nature had other plans; it was rainy and windy! You know how unpredictable Buffalo NY weather is. It was evident that a great deal of planning went into the day. Taylor and Korey were chillaxed all day long. There was no drama and not a soul complained once about the weather. Everyone had so much FUN, especially ME!
I first met Taylor at a salon called Hair Reformation. She works with amazing team of beautiful ladies! I had my hair done there last year and I still get compliments from total strangers everywhere I go. Thanks girls!
The rich burgundy colors and navy suits complimented her bridal bouquet amazingly, certainly a dream come true for any photographer!!
Taylor and Korey wanted their first look to be very intimate; only two of them at Babeville Buffalo NY where their wedding reception and ceremony would take place. My second shooter / daughter Halle and I stayed far away give then some personal space. The moment was very emotional and they shared misty eyes. The groom was overjoyed to finally see his beautiful bride in her gown after so a year of anticipation.
When we arrived at the Albright Knox Gallery in Buffalo, NY, the rain showed no signs of relenting. There was a steady mist falling, a strong breeze, and the sky was completely overcast. We camped out in a confined, covered space to grab some shots with outdoor lighting. I was nervous that Taylor and Korey may be stressed out when they arrived… but they walked up with HUGE smiles on their faces and umbrellas in hand! I knew that these shots would become the favorites of the day, despite the dismal weather :) And they are fantastic!!
Taylor and Korey, thank you so much for choosing me to be a part of your incredible wedding day celebration! I am so, so grateful for you both and I hope you enjoy some of my favorite images! We love you guys!

I had such an amazing time at Knox Farm photographing this gorgeous family .. There’s something so magical about this place, and if I could sneak off once a month to re-center and breathe a little bit, this is where I would go, every time.., As you can tell from the photos, we had a great time. My husband and I have known this family long time and I finally had the chance to capture some beautiful images for them!! I am always humbled when families trust me to photograph them...and this time was no exception.
Enjoy,
xoxo. Zula
Here we are in late September, 2017 and summer has finally arrived! We were blessed to have such gorgeous weather and I'm very grateful that our very generous friends invited us to share their beautiful lakeside home during this hot spell.
In fact one of my first family photoshoots when I was getting started in the business was them. Their little girl was just a baby at the time. Since then she has been classmates with my youngest daughter and our families have grown closer and closer. Mom and I have become workout buddies and share an occasional glass of wine.
As we starting talking about this photoshoot, I wanted to capture the spirit of the beach and lake and the joy that it has brought the family. These kids are water babies and are already naturals on paddle boards and waterskis. Mom and Dad were so fun and carefree with this style of session and I hope that I've captured some images they'll cherish for years to come... but lets not wait 5 years until your NEXT shoot! :)
Enjoy!

Working with an individuals, women and men of all ages and types is very rewarding for me. I'm able to learn about my subjects and capture their personalities in my art, much like I'm able to do with my high school seniors, but with the added complexities of their deeper life experiences. As I make my models comfortable with me, the setting, and themselves, their confidence grows and their personalities radiate. Sometimes my subjects are even surprised with the emotions I'm able to capture; they didn't know they had it in them! ;)
So, in exploring this specialization, I was fortunate to shoot Kelsey. Not only is she an extremely talented makeup artist, she is also a successful small business owner and strong, wonderful mother! I'm amazed at how different each shot turned out. She almost looks like a different person in some images; from classic beauty to mysterious and sexy, from focused to whimsical, from girlish to motherly! You can also see Kelsey's expertise in her trade with her own makeup application which made my editing work so much easier.
Was your last professional session your senior high school or college portrait? Why not celebrate your beautiful self and your accomplishments and allow yourself a few moments of self-indulgence with a sitting with me? You, your family, and your friends and colleagues will cherish these Portrait forever.
love, Zula
I'm very pleased to have met this charming, young lady who will be a Senior at Orchard Park High School in the Class of 2018. Riana was so natural in front of the camera, it was easy to make her look like a runway model. She is also tall and thin, which helps ;)
She even let me test my makeup and hairdressing skills and I was pleased with how it looked in front of the lens.
I specialize in High School Senior Portraits in an outdoor settings and seniors have their choice of great urban and rural locations in Buffalo and around Western NY. I'm able to quickly get to know my subjects and how to set them at ease before and during their sitting so that we can capture their personality in their portraits.
I'm already getting many requests for sittings for senior portraits! Contact me soon to reserve a time slot that works in your calendar.
Matt and Katy have been together for 8 years as of next month! They got engaged last year under the willow tree at the Botanical Gardens where Matt dressed up as Prince Charming! They met while they were working together at Tim Hortons. Matt thought Katy was teasing him the first time she asked him out, so she played it off as a joke too... but she was serious! Of course, we all know how that story ended; "Happily Ever After"! A perfect spot to revisit for some great post-ceremony shots.
This bride and groom were so entertaining; playful, funny, and adorable! If they didn't have to play host and hostess, they would have shaken their booties on the dance floor all night long!
Their wedding dance song was "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz which Matt used to sing that into a broom handle at work to Katy. I almost feel part of the family as I've been blessed to have been part of several marriages in this wonderful group of people. It was so nice to get reacquainted with their extended friends and family. Wishing long life and happiness to Matt and Katy! Please enjoy some of your images from a magical evening.

Zula Sonner Photography is now booking Class of 2018 Senior Portraits!
Spring has sprung! Flowers and blossoms are everywhere and that make me so anxious to begin working with class of 2018 seniors.
I've been fortunate to have been able to watch my first spokes model of the class of 2018 mature into a stunning young lady! Taylor was a junior bridesmaid in her aunt's wedding in 2013 when I was first getting started in photography. I've developed wonderful relationships with many of the people from her extended family, keeping in touch on FB, and appreciate them returning to me to capture some of the most memorable events in their lives.
Taylor attends Frontier High School. She is so outgoing and easy to get to know. We had a great time during our first session. Taylor has a passion for fashion and photography, so we also work very well together. She started her own blog recently.. bardashionblog.com I'm so impressed that this young lady has already has ambitions to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. I'm confident that Taylor will be successful in the field or whatever she chooses to do!
I cant wait to capture her senior portrait session in the summer!!

Johnny and Lauren's New Year's wedding in Hyatt was absolutely perfect. I love New Years Eve weddings. The guests have not one, but two reasons to celebrate and they pull out the stops .. Buffalo weather can be so unpredictable when it comes to shooting wedding outside BUT WE DID IT and we got some fantastic shots!
Lauren and bridal party beautified in Lauren's Salon Elle Aire Buffalo Blow Dry Bar in Williamsville .. Even though she is the bride she couldn't resist the temptation to work and make sure everyones' hair and make up was spectacular. She is such a easy going and sweet person to work with and she looked AMAZING; her hair and dress were jaw-dropping and i was constantly telling myself how beautiful she looked.
After the ceremony we went to the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY. It was freezing cold outside! The bridal party were troopers; the moment they stepped out of the limo into the bone-chilling wind for their reveal, they had a big smiles on their faces and just rolled with the punches.
Then we went to First Niagara Center to take picture on the ice rink! The electronic score board has a personalized sign for the bride and groom. What a nice touch! It was NOT easy to walk on the ice many people kept falling. I was relieved nobody was hurt (but I did get some great shots, LOL).
Right before midnight, everyone poured champagne over the tower of glasses and kissed to ring in the New Year! Lauren and Johnny, thank you for trusting us with your wedding memories! We wouldn't want to spent our New Years any other way than celebrating alongside you and your amazing guests! What a fantastic couple you guys are and I hope your honeymoon in Europe was amazing! Big hugs to you and both and enjoy reliving your day through a few of my favorite photos!

This afternoon, the Buffalo Bills host the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mario's only specification for their photo shoot was it had to be done in time for the game! My first mini-session of the Christmas season went so well! Gina and Mario's children are adorable and they were fantastic models today. Without a snowflake in sight, we brought our own and the kids had a blast. Now the swimming pool at Brierwood seems sooooo far away, but it was nice to spend some time with the Pinnellis. Hotel at Lafayette
Buffalo, NY
I am fortunate that my dear friend Cat referred her dear friend (also from Michigan, now living in Buffalo) Thea to me for her wedding photographs. At our first meeting Thea, Joe, and I hit it off instantly and since we have bumped into each other on several occasions. It was great to get to know them and her personality before shooting their wedding.
I face-timed with Thea and Joe several days before their big day and told her how important it was to have the whole bridal party ready (and clutter in the hotel room out of the way) before the bride started to get ready. The result... I captured some fantastic images of Thea and her bridesmaids and family prior to taking Thea for the first look. The rest of the day was a photographer's dream as well. Though she had a large wedding party, everyone followed my lead very quickly and efficiently.
To the front of the hotel for the first look! Thea looked amazing! and her loveliness brought Joe to tears (for the first of many times of the day). While in front of the hotel, we recreated the scene from their engagement session nearly a year ago, when Thea's dress blew up standing over the vent grate Marilyn Monroe style! In fact the groomsmen get into the action. They looked so stylish and handsome in their modern grey suits and brown shoes / belts!
Thea and Joe love the Queen City of Buffalo, NY and wanted to have some shots taken with the skyline in the background. So, we went to the rooftop of the Fairmont Hotel where we got some amazing (and fun!) images. The sky was very clear and the white rooftop reflected the sunlight so strongly that no-one could keep their eyes open. I instructed the party to keep their eyes closed until I said "1-2-3 OPEN!". The party got a kick out of this, but the results were great and another example of how cooperative they were.
After taking some shots at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, we were off to the magnificent St Louis Church on East Edwards Street, Buffalo. Thea's mother walked her down the isle as, unfortunately, her father was not well. He was waiting for her at the alter and was able to give her away to the groom, a very emotional moment with not a dry eye in the congregation. The ceremony was unforgettable.
Not long after arriving at the ceremony, Thea was ready to have some fun and announced "I'm done with pictures!" Everyone cut loose and had a blast, especially Joe's brother who busted out his best break-dance moves!
I'm happy to have developed a friendship with Thea and Joe and I wish them all the best in their lives together!
Throughout our entire journey with Leah and Dave, we never forget how honored we felt to walk side by side with them on the most important day of their lives! We love you both to the moon and back, and we hope you enjoy seeing your love through our eyes as much as we loved witnessing it for ourselves.

Welcome to another episode of "2015: Summer of Rainy Saturdays" where Mother Nature strikes yet again during Angeline and Chris's big day.
The happy couple's immediate family was lucky to witness the "first look" at Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY. Chris looked so handsome (and maybe a little anxious) as he waited expectantly to see his bride for the first time in her gown. His blue suit matched the accents in Angelina's bouquet perfectly! Angelina looked stunning and took Chris's breath away! Her smile is so lovely and warm in these shots.
While the weather was still cooperating, we fortunately stopped by the pond and got some gorgeous shots surrounded by natural beauty. By the time we got to Templeton Landing near Canal Side in Buffalo, NY, the rainclouds had opened up, forcing the event indoors...
As they say, "the show must go on", and the ceremony and reception were beautiful and so much fun! And in many cultures it's the best of luck when the cake knife breaks during the cake cutting... Congratulations guys! We did get outside again during the evening for same wonderful shots. I hope you enjoy these images of a very special day!

]]>Look out Frontier girls! My first guy senior shoot of the season was to much fun.
The Cobblestone District was bustling with activity, but all of the distractions didn't phase Mike, who was so cool and natural in front of the lens! It will be an easy year if the rest of my shoots go this smoothly...
This is my 3rd (but unfortunately youngest) sibling in the Giamberdino family that I had the privilege to shoot! Looking forward to their weddings!
.
Mira looked amazing in the reds and golds of her lehenga! I love how her bengles and henna on her palms framed the image of the wedding bands!
Sid contrasted with western style and was so cool and classic in his black tuxedo! His smile captures his gentle and warm personality. His handsome entourage from the University of Buffalo were a great bunch of guys and so fun to shoot!
We did manage to sneak some shots out from under the tent and this couple was a so easy to make look great! The brilliant green backdrop added even more contrast and shows how much rainfall we've gotten in Western NY this summer.
Mira's father then came to the rescue and relocated the reception from the soggy grass to the Clarion Hotel Marina and Conference Center where we got some great shots at the waterfront. We also commandeered a bicycle from a spectator passing by for some very fun images! Wishing these wonderful newlyweds long and happy lives together!

The event took place at the beautiful Byblos Niagara Resort and Spa on the bank of the magnificent Niagara River on Grand Island. Lindsay styled her own hair and applied her own makeup to perfection; she looked stunning! She has such a sweet personality which was easy to capture in these images.
The ceremony was to take place in the outdoor gazebo; Mother Nature had different plans and threw the happy couple a curve ball in the form of rain and thunder! Her fury was short lived, however, and later in the day we were able to dodge the raindrops (with the help of an umbrella at times) and take some great shots on the hotel grounds.
My daughter, Halle, assisted on her 2nd wedding of the season and was very helpful all day long. She also has a great eye and took some sharp images!
Congratulations to Kyle and Lindsay! May you have a blessed and long live together.

Yesterday, Halle and I went to Albright–Knox Art Gallery Buffalo, NY for a mini session of Halle in her prom dress. She chose this two piece dress from Sherri Hill. This vibrant hue of red looks fabulous on her. Please enjoy these images..
Misty's bridesmaids showed their spirit all day beginning with their "team bride" tees and finally.... outlasting the groomsmen in merrymaking at the end of the evening.
You don't have to look very closely to see a tear running down a "misty"-eyed Tony's cheek as Misty said her vows. It was so sweet and touching!
and yes, Batgirl was in attendance for the safety and delight of the guests ;) Mom made her cape for the event; great job, Misty!

]]>On their wedding day, Jenny and Mimi surrounded themselves with their friends and family and said I Do. They promised themselves to each other forever at Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo, NY .
Many tears were shed, and all in happiness. Loved ones offered toasts to their lives together then danced the night away under a tent at O'Brien's Sleepy Hollow in East Aurora, NY.
Jenny and Mimi, I'm honored to have been part of such a memorable day of celebration! My colleague, Michael, and I felt so welcomed. We appreciated some of your attention on your big day and giving us the flexibility to use our talents to document every moment. A nineteen member wedding party (including 2 dogs) may have been a challenge from my perspective, but is a testament to how much you are loved! I wish you a long and joyous marriage!

Emily Ann Kidder and William Patrick LaRusch tied the knot in the glamorous Grand Marquis Ballroom at the Hotel Lafayette in downtown Buffalo. Pure white Buffalo snow juxtaposed by fire engine red took center stage from the cake to the bridesmaids' dresses.
Emm and Bill have known each other since they were 14 and 17; Bill was Emm's brother's best friend. A mutual adolescent crush has blossomed into a life long relationship, sealed with their vows and a kiss on February 7th, 2014.
Our day started at Xtreme Wheels Indoor Skate Park, Bill's favorite haunt. The warehouse pillars, ramps, and platforms was an exciting backdrop for handsome men decked out in tuxedos.
007 Revealed!
By day, Bill fights fires in the great city of Buffalo. By night, he sheds his coat and helmet revealing... an international man of mystery
The Suite Life
On to the beautiful Hotel Lafayette where Emm, Moms, and bridesmaids are primping for the main event! Hair and Airbrush Makeup Artist Tanya Kozlowski of So Chic Now was fabulous!
The bride's and bridesmaids' bouquets were all wrapped in lace from Emm's mother's wedding dress!

7's were "in the cards"
February 7th is a day of fate? A psychic once told Emm that the number 7 has great significance for her. Emm's son was born on 11-17-07. JP has Williams Syndrome which is the deletion genes from the 7th chromosome. Emily and her groom William (his birthday is 7-27-87) got together after knowing each other for 7 years.
..
In honor of JP, Emm and Bill made a donation on their guests behalf to the Williams Syndrome Association!
Bills Topsy-Turvy / Alice in Wonderland vision made reality by Dessert Deli Gourmet Bakery and Cafe!
.
A Touching Moment
Bill's father, Billy LaRusch, sang Cat Steven's "Father and Son".
Burning up the dance floor!
Bill's dance moves set the place on fire! It got so hot that the Buffalo Fire Department made an appearance.

The clock in the background reads 6:20 a.m…. Emm is still going strong!

Project 365 is a personal year long project that I've undertaken for 2014! i would love to capturing of real life moments – genuine expressions, most often candid , no posing or fake smiles, taken candidly in most cases and often the subject is caught up in their own world. It’s the recording of precious details that pass us by everyday... Its a difficult thing to try and find time to photograph your own life while working so hard to create beautiful images for your clients, so this is a motivational tool for me! I know I'll look back in years to come and love that I capture the every day wish my girls were still so little! Hope you enjoy looking through them through out 2014 !

We shot at several locations including Glen Park in Williamsville, NY and beautiful downtown Buffalo, NY. The falls at Glen Park provides a serene natural background while the brick and streets downtown offers an urban mood.
Anjuli is self-taught on guitar, drawing from her training on piano and violin. She also enjoys watching the Buffalo Sabres and Chicago Blackhawks. Anjuli plans to have a career in medicine focusing on head injuries. She has a bright future ahead of her and I hope that my camera will be called upon again to capture some new memories!

Turquoise is the new pink; and I love it! We had such a long, drawn out winter this year that we brought the Caribbean to into our house for Amelia's 2nd Birthday Party. She loves mermaids..
The tutus were so much work, each one taking an hour to make, but worth the while in the end. The chocolate covered
As the girls arrived, they were given an aqua Tutu made by me ( Zula Sonner) along with a basic white top from Target Boutique..
Fruit Sushi (frushi)

I was thrilled to have L is back in the studio last week for his ONE year old photo shoot! His Mommy told me he had just taken his first step today. His favorite book is "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed", but since we didn't have the book (and I was shooting him in his pajamas) I brought out my girls' favorite book, "Goodnight Moon", which he enjoyed. He continually kept one unsure eye on me, but would periodically reward me for just a moment with a flash of those baby blues. MELT!!!! I loved this whole session and I adore this little charmer. You will too

For Halle’s shoot, we went to one of my favorite place in the city – good ol’ Albright-Knox Art Gallery and Cobblestone . We love this places!! Every time I go there, I find a treasure trove of awesome places to shoot. And, of course, Halle was super easy to work with; probably one of the most happy, smily people I know…

Summer’s shoot was the result of a hasty, “holy cow we had a bad weather, it was still raining all morning & Make up Artist didn't show up". But she did her make up & hair really well by herself. We didn’t have much time to travel to a location, so we shot at random locations around the city .…AMAZING! We had so much fun on this shoot and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Check out Summer’s beautiful expressions below...
